Champion Quest
Recruit to a standard, not a type.
Champion Quest is the colony's year-round recruitment system, a disciplined pipeline that turns interest into a bid and a bid into a brother.
- 25+
- Bids each fall
- 10+
- Bids each spring
- 2.50
- Minimum GPA to receive a bid
- 0
- Tolerance for hazing
The program
Champion Quest treats recruitment like an operation, not a party. Every prospective member enters a tracked pipeline, gets a dedicated point of contact, and moves through three deliberate phases so no one falls through the cracks.
We look for men with strong character and real academic standing who want to build something, and we deliberately seek out students who never planned to join a fraternity at all. We recruit to a standard, not a type.
The goal
- Pledge at least 25 good men each fall and 10 each spring.
- Keep a recruiting mindset year round, with every member trained to do it well.
- Every event is dry and run to the Code of Conduct, without exception.
- Every recruit is measured against the values of the Star and Crescent, and against our own anti-hazing standard.
The pipeline
A shared list moves every candidate through three phases. Anyone who loses interest is moved out, so the picture stays honest.
- Phase 1. Identify the candidate and make first contact to gauge interest.
- Phase 2. Build the relationship: invite him to events, introduce him to brothers.
- Phase 3. Extend the offer. To pledge 25 in the fall we expect 40 men in Phase 3, 85 in Phase 2, and 200-plus in Phase 1.
A week of rush
A sample week, not a fixed schedule. The point is real conversation in relaxed settings.
- Informal open house and house tours.
- Night of a Thousand Nuggets: the sauce lineup does the icebreaking.
- Casino night, with chips redeemable for prizes.
- Cookout, pool, and yard games.
- Bowling and pool night, brothers paired with prospects.
- Invite-only dinner for the men holding bids.
How a bid is decided
- Brothers meet before and after events to discuss every candidate and vote as a body.
- We hold to the Stephen Alonzo Jackson principle (the founder himself was nearly passed over) and actively seek men who bring a different perspective.
- Recruiting workshops open each semester so every brother sharpens the same skills.
